The final game to show up in the schedule of events for our spring WAN party taking place this Saturday April 20 is Battlefield V which we will switch to around 10:00 PM Eastern. We will be using a private server through the game called [OSF] The Ardennes Forest. The password will be foliage. To find the server, go to Play -> Community Games -> Browse Community Games -> Filter (by Name: Ardennes). This should bring up our server in the list. Do not join on others because it will unbalance the teams.

It does have profanity with the game announcer, but you can disable that by turning of the "In-Game Announcer" in the settings. You can also set it to 11 different languages including "Brazilian Portuguese" if that does not work.

Below is a link to buy/download the game for $40, if you do not already own it, but it will inevitably go on sale again in the future for $10 or less. So if you do not have the game yet, you are better off simply signing up for EA Play for $5 for one month which will give you access to this game as well as a lot of other games and then cancelling it at the end of the month.

Gold & Glory (2x gold, reputation, renown)! We are doing this Friday night because Saturday night is our WAN party, so we will not have a community night on Sunday night. We will still try to get a few hours of this in at the end of our Saturday night WAN party too. Sea of Thieves is a PC and Xbox One action/adventure game that allows cross play between the two where you form a crew of up to 4 and sail around looking for treasure and having other adventures. If we have more than 4, we will split into several crews. We will make a attempts to match on the same server together with multiple ships at the start, so try to be there on time for this purpose. In order to maximize our odds of getting more than one ship on the same server, please download the Fleet Creator and Windscribe VPN client, sign up for a free account with both, and have them installed and ready to use for these nights. The next game to show up in our schedule of events for our spring WAN party taking place this Saturday night April 20 will be Star Wars Battlefront 2 which we will switch to around 9:00 PM Eastern. If you do not already own the game, it is $20:

We will be using Kyber to host a private server. You will need to download the Kyber client to play, but this is a simple executable, no install needed. You can wait to download it right before joining the server. We will have a private server to join, [OSF] May The Force Be With You. The process to use Kyber is to go to the Kyber server page and click the play button on our server. It will prompt you to download the client, and once downloaded, you should start the game. That should be it. It does have issues with DirectX 12 so it is a good idea to set your game (video) settings to DirectX 11 before you try to join the server.

We will use Discord to coordinate and socialize.

The next game to show up in our schedule of events for our spring WAN party taking place this Saturday April 20 is Battlfield 3 which we will switch to around 8:00 PM Eastern. The game will be private with the password foliage and has bots to supplement real players. If you had issues running the STEAM version of Battlefield 3, the fix is to uninstall it from STEAM and use the EA app version instead in addition to Venice Unleashed which everyone needs to use to play on our server. In fact, it might be good to simply switch to the EA Games version. The premium version of the game is $40, but it has been on sale for $2 and will be again (see link below). The server is up right now, and the directions to connect to it are also linked below. Note that if you own the game through STEAM and want to buy it through EA, you might not be able to do it from the actual game page in the app. It will give you a note to manage the game on STEAM without any option to buy. However, if you search for the game on EA, it will come up in the search. You will see a shopping cart icon in the lower right corner that will allow you to buy it through the EA app.

How to connect to the OSF BF3 server

The next game to show up in our schedule of events for our spring WAN party taking place this Saturday April 20 is Counter-Strike:Global Offensive which we will switch to around 7:00 PM Eastern. If you do not already have the game in your STEAM library, it is still completely FREE AND PLAYABLE even though CS2 has now taken precedence. In your STEAM library, right-click on Counter-Strike 2 in the list of games on the left and choose Properties. In the left menu of the window that pops up, choose Betas and then use the drop-down menu on the right next to Beta Participation to choose csgo_legacy - Legacy version of CS:GO. Once you do that, it will update your install of CS2 to allow you to play CSGO. When you click the game in the list on the left of your library, it will pop up a window that gives you a choice between playing CS2 or CSGO. From there, the game should function just as it did previously including restoring your config saved to the cloud. If you never deleted CSGO (only upgraded to CS2), you should also still have all the custom maps installed. If not, any maps that are not included with the game will be downloaded from the server automatically when connected, or if you want to make sure that you have all of the maps ahead of time, you can download them from here and extract them to the STEAM\steamapps\common\Counter-Strike Global Offensive\csgo\maps folder. The server will be hosted at 108.26.25.2:27018 ([OSF] Fraggin Friar Tucks).

We will be kicking off our spring WAN party at 6:00 PM Eastern next Saturday April 20 with Left 4 Dead 2. We will be using our persistent server at 108.26.25.2:27019 and will be playing survival mode on various maps. If you have not yet played this game with us, our server is modded to allow for up to 32 players at the same time but adjusts the difficulty upward with each player beyond the 4th one and starts in expert mode. 7 Days to Die is a zombie apocalypse survival game with some crafting/building, similar to The Forest. We have a server running for it that will switch save games between community nights and the times in between to keep the community night save game from progressing further without those who are more likely to play only on those nights while still allowing others to play outside of community nights with full progression for that save game. As long as you play outside of 7 PM Wednesday to 2 AM Thursday, you will not disturb the community night save game. The name of our server is [OSF] Died in the Dell and can be found by searching the in-game server browser for [OSF]. Do not use the external STEAM server browser to join the server as it does not work properly.

Tribes of Midgard is an adventure/survival/crafting game based in Norse mythology. We are at the end of the game in terms of discovering and defeating bosses at least once, but we have a lot of undiscovered areas that we will be working to uncover on this night while waiting for a night when we can all be there to finish with Valhalla.

A reminder that when Mann vs. Machine or Left 4 Dead 2 community nights end early, we will be gathering in the Discord lobby to play coop games console games with Parsec, STEAM play together games like TMNT, or Star Wars Battlefront 2 or Battlefield V coop for anyone interested. For SWBF2 and BFV, you do need to own the games, but for the console games you need only an Xbox/PS3 like game controller and Parsec installed and for STEAM play together games you only need a game controller and one person who owns the game to join on.
